Optimo (Espacio)’s JD Twitch Useless At 57


JD Twitch, often known as one half of the duo Optimo (Espacio), has died. The Scottish DJ and producer born Keith McIvor revealed in July that he was recognized with an untreatable mind tumor. He handed away on Friday (Sept. 19) in Glasgow’s Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. He was 57.

“In a 28 yr partnership he modified my life immeasurably and collectively we took our work in instructions and to locations few persons are fortunate sufficient to discover,” his bandmate Jonnie Wilkes (aka JG Wilkes) wrote on Instagram. “I’m perpetually grateful for all the pieces he bestowed on me, each as a companion in music and as a pal. Keith’s depth and fervour for all times, for music, for creativity and for constructive change merely by no means let up. He was formidable. His perception in folks and the concept standing collectively, that our collective power is highly effective was unwavering. I liked him for that.”

McIvor grew up in Edinburgh, the place he co-founded a members-only membership night time known as Pure. The occasions grew to become vital within the Scottish home and techno scene.
