Sweden’s Disrupted is about to launch its third full-length album, Stinking Dying, on January 24, 2025. Identified for his or her signature HM-2 tone—a trademark of the traditional Swedish demise steel sound—and unwavering dedication to the style’s roots, Disrupted continues to ship a brutal homage to demise steel’s golden age.
Mikael Hanni and Thomas Liljekvist, who fashioned the band within the Dalecarlia area in 2012, shortly carved out a distinct segment with their debut EP, “Heavy Dying,” in 2014 and the relentless follow-up, “Morbid Dying,” in 2015. Their 2020 album, “Pure Dying,” launched amid a world pandemic, cemented their status as standard-bearers of the HM-2 legacy. Their upcoming album, “Stinking Dying,” guarantees one other dose of gut-ripping riffs and skull-crushing ferocity.
About their newest launch, the band informed Decibel, “It’s been 5 years since our final album, and we’re thrilled to unleash ‘Stinking Dying’ upon the world. Anticipate full-on HM-2 worship with songs drenched in demise, blood, and decay. Wrapped in a richly immersive environment, this album evolves our earlier work. We will’t look ahead to you all to revel within the putrid stink of demise with us!”
“Stinking Dying” marks a brand new chapter for the band, that includes former Katatonia drummer Daniel Liljekvist. This lineup shift amplifies their sonic pressure whereas staying true to the HM-2-drenched fashion that followers have come to like.
