Former Propaganda vocalist, Claudia Brücken pronounces new album, Evening Mirror.
Claudia’s final studio outing got here with the critically acclaimed 2022 album The Coronary heart Is Unusual (No.11 within the UK album chart), which noticed her reunite together with her Propaganda colleagues Susanne Freytag and Stephen Lipson to supply a sequel to A Secret Want utilizing the title xpropaganda.
It was her newest mission in a eclectic sequence of musical and creative collaborations with the likes of Wolfgang Flür (Kraftwerk), Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), ACT, Andrew Poppy, Andy Bell (Erasure) and Peter Hook (New Order), confirming her fame as an uncompromising and charming musical pioneer.
Evening Mirror, her fourth solo album, was written and recorded in London between 2023-25 with long-time collaborator John Williams (The Housemartins, Alison Moyet, Blancmange, Easy Minds). It’s an enthralling assortment of 10 authentic compositions, an intense, intoxicating sequence of mysteries, reflections, struggles and obsessive observations set in opposition to a backdrop of glossy, elegant electronica.
Titles embrace Rosebud, Sincerely, Sound And The Fury, To Be Beloved, The Solely Ones, All That We Ever Have and Dancing Shadow. Propaganda had chart success with bold and progressive hit singles like Dr Mabuse and Duel and the scope and grandeur of their 1985 album A Secret Want makes it a continuing presence in Best Albums Of The Nineteen Eighties lists.
