Waking Iris, a recent rock quintet from the again streets of west Helsinki, drops their second single, “Excellent”. Written by Canadian lead singer, Brian Forth, the tune is a driving melancholic exploration of infidelity. Waking Iris was born within the coronary heart of the underground rock scene in Kivenlahti Finland. Canadian singer/songwriter Brian Forth fronts the group of Finnish rockers together with Tim Norrgrann (Gtarzee) on lead guitar, Reda Kramdi on drums, Pauliina Järvisalo on keyboards and Ilkka Pättiniemi on bass. The sound has echoes of 80’s melodic rock infused with grunge-style grit, epic lead guitar, excessive power percussion and fast-moving bass strains.
The tune was partly recorded in Soundwell Studio with the help of Valtteri Kallio and in Groundzero Studios in Stockholm by producers Joakim Hillson and Johan Öberg, each of whom additionally blended the monitor. The tune was mastered in Carisma Studio in Sweden by Tomas Caris Andersson.
