Huge Thief Share Two New Songs – “Grandmother (Feat. Laraaji)” and “Los Angeles”

Huge Thief are releasing a brand new album, Double Infinity, on September 5 through 4AD. Now they’ve shared two extra songs from it, “Grandmother” (which options Laraaji) and “Los Angeles.” Hearken to each under.
A press launch explains that “Grandmother” is “the primary tune all three members of Huge Thief wrote collectively and grapples with generational love and ache” and “Los Angeles” is “a tune of revival about previous lovers turning into mates.”
Beforehand they shared the album’s first single, “Incomprehensible,” which was one in all our Songs of the Week. The album’s second single, “All Evening, All Day,” was additionally one in all our Songs of the Week.
Double Infinity is the band’s sixth album and the primary because the departure of authentic bassist Max Oleartchik. Huge Thief now options Adrianne Lenker, Buck Meek, and James Krivchenia. The album was recorded over the course of three weeks at New York Metropolis’s The Energy Station final winter. Longtime collaborator Dom Monks produced, engineered, and combined the album. A slew of different musicians additionally contributed to the recording of the album, together with Alena Spanger, Caleb Michel, Hannah Cohen, Jon Nellen, Joshua Crumbly, June McDoom, Laraaji, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Mikey Buishas.
Huge Thief’s final album, Dragon New Heat Mountain I Consider in You, was one in all our Prime 100 Albums of 2022. Lenker launched a brand new solo album, Brilliant Future, in 2024.
