Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has recommended that it is “attainable” that his former band Kyuss might reform in the future.
Kyuss disbanded in 1995, and, up to now, Homme has typically shot down any suggestion that the legendary Palm Desert band would possibly in the future reunite.
Though he initially gave his blessing to his former bandmates John Garcia, Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri touring as Kyuss Lives!, that band resulted in acrimonious circumstances when he and former Kyuss bassist Scott Reeder sued Garcia and Bjork in 2012 for “trademark infringement and client fraud” after discovering that the pair had allegedly sought to trademark the Kyuss title.
In 2020, nevertheless, it appeared that Homme had softened his stance considerably.
“My philosophy has at all times been, by no means do a reunion, by no means do a sequel” he instructed Kyuss World Radio, however then added, “There have been occasions I assumed it can’t finish that approach, and the one actual solution to finish it appropriately now could be to play.”
Now, in a brand new interview with Kyuss World‘s Nathan Lawver, carried out in Madison, Wisconson on June 20, as transcribed by Blabbermouth, Homme says, “I do know I thought of it many occasions… I give it some thought. I’ve truly talked about it a number of occasions to folks that assist me do stuff.”
He continues, I simply really feel just like the punctuation of Kyuss – it was such an ideal little unit, and it ended the way in which it ought to. And was completely in help of what was taking place in Kyuss Lives! and issues like that. It was simply [that] there have been some difficult issues that have been pulled… I feel it is good for folks to know what occurred.
“But it surely at all times left me with a wierd feeling, as a result of it is, like, you wanna set issues proper. And plus I simply do not assume it is good… There is not any purpose to carry on to something destructive. I haven’t got destructive emotions about anyone. None of that stuff issues. So, yeah, it is attainable.”
