The Damned honour Brian James with new covers album


The Damned have introduced a brand new album, Not Like Everyone Else, devoted to the reminiscence of Brian James, the band’s founding guitarist and chief song-writer, who died on March 6, 2025.

Recorded in 5 days at Revolver Studio, Los Angeles, the album options Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Smart on guitar, Rat Scabies on drums, Paul Grey on bass and joined by longtime keyboardist Monty Oxymoron.

The periods marked the primary time in 40 years that Scabies has returned to the studio with the band.

Say the band, “every tune has been chosen as a result of they had been by artists that had an impression on Brian’s guitar taking part in and in flip his songwriting and in flip the Damned as a band.”

The primary monitor launched is R Dean Taylor’s “There’s A Ghost In My Home”, which arrived on October 30.

Among the many tracks, the band’s cowl of “The Final Time” by The Rolling Stones, that includes James himself, taken from his closing London performances with The Damned, at Hammersmith Odeon, in October 2022.

The album coincides with The Damned’s fiftieth anniversary celebrations, which start with a one-off covers present at Albert Corridor, Manchester on January 28, 2026.

The Damned may also play a particular fiftieth anniversary present at OVO Enviornment Wembley on Saturday, April 11 2026.
