For a couple of minutes on Sunday night, the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans was teleported 1,895 miles away to town of Compton, Calif. Kendrick Lamar, the primary solo rapper to headline the NFL Tremendous Bowl halftime present, is well-known for holding up the torch of West Coast hip-hop to remix its roots and burn it vivid for all to see.
With the largest captive viewers of his profession — round 80,000 followers within the Superdome and hundreds of thousands extra at residence — Lamar’s efficiency will conjure a medley of hits that might span his 15-year discography, and can function R&B star SZA as a particular visitor.
